Brioche Next Steps! Saturday 9th November 2019 10am - 4pm
The excellent Renée Callahan of East London Knits is coming to teach us the next steps of brioche! In this full-day class we will cover:
*Cast on and cast off techniques for two colour brioche stitch
*How to read a brioche stitch chart
*Working increases and decreases
*How to gauge swatch for brioche stitch
*Begin a brioche-stitch accessory designed for the class (we will give you more details about what you might need for this nearer to the class)
We will provide practise materials or you are welcome to bring your own. You'll need some DK yarn in contrasting colours (light/dark) and 4mm circular needles.
After studying fashion design with knitwear at Central Saint Martins college, Renée began to hoard yarn and a range of knitting machines. 'I love textiles and technical challenge of knitting. There is real joy in producing something both useful and beautiful.' Renée is constantly creating new patterns and combinations of texture and colour and spends as much time as possible hand knitting. Renée loves to see new knitters taking to the needles and teaches a range of knitting classes. You can find Renée on her East London Knit podcast, website and on Ravelry.
There will be half an hour for a lunch break (lunch is not provided - but there are plenty of cafes and sandwich shops close by) light refreshments/drinks will be available throughout the class. Please let me know if you have any dietary requirements before the class.
***Unfortunately we will only be able to issue a refund if we can fill your space - which we will do our best to do.***
