I'm really happy to be one of the few stockists of the Doulton Border Leicester yarn. Ellie has the largest flock of Border Leicesters in the UK and none of them are sold for meat - they are a slaughter-free flock that live long happy lives. They're a beautiful breed, very elegant with long rabbit-like ears that are so distinctive - you can see them on the label of the wool! Their fleece is a snowy white and has been worsted spun in Yorkshire and dyed in the most beautiful colours.
Christine Perry (the Winick Mum) used them for her exploration into no nylon sock yarn and designed her Easy Lace Socks using Cringle Moor 4 ply. After six months Christine was very happy with how they had worn - with no wear and made for a very comfy pair of socks!
