A beautiful, reversible wrap designed by Alitzah Grant, who has captured and combined the essence of the North with sheepy Lancastrian wool and a design that echoes and remembers the fisherman of Fleetwood. Alitzah is a designer, tutor and blogger of 'all things knitted and crocheted' and created the most perfect design for this yarn, I'm so happy to be able to share it with you again.
'Fleetwood takes its name from the eponymous Lancashire coastal town, where the last of the county's fishing fleets were to be found. This pattern takes as its inspiration the proud sea faring heritage of the town that was once known as the 'Euston of the North' in its Victorian heyday.
The wrap was designed specifically for the stunning Northern Yarn 'Lynn' a blend of Poll Dorset and Bluefaced Leicester wool grown on sheep from the Lancastrian countryside. The wool has a wonderful fullness and excellent stitch definition.
The design uses reversible cables so that both sides of the wrap are the same. This clever use of stitches enables the wrap to be worn in a variety of ways as there is technically no 'wrong' side.'
The kit includes:
3 x 100g skeins of Northern Yarn 'Lynn" DK
Fleetwood pattern by Alitzah Grant, beautifully printed on card.
*This pattern is exclusive to Northern Yarn and is only available with this kit.
