100% pure wool from fleeces grown by a flock of Lonk on the Whitewell Estate in the Trough of Bowland. Lonk is a native sheep of Lancashire and has been roaming on the moors for centuries. A hill breed with plenty of character, the name is said to derive from the Lancashire expression 'lanky' meaning long - the Lonk sheep do have long backs! The lonk has been blended with Bluefaced Leicester and makes for an exquisite yarn.
Produced by Kate Schofield. Kate spins her own yarn but this wool has been mill spun.
