Here is my Northern Yarn DK - Lynn - Poll Dorset & Bluefaced Leicester shearling blend from neighbouring farms in Quernmore, Lancaster. I've named the wool after the farmer who looks after the sheep - she does a wonderful job and knows her sheep well, using bioenergetics, a modern form of homoeopathy that analyses a flock or a herd from either its milk or wool and then uses remedies to enable the animal to heal itself by balancing it energetic systems.
I loved our Christmas Boxes hand dyed by Rachel of Pook so I was thrilled when Rachel said she's happy to dye again for us! The colours were chosen with sunny springtime in mind - and I've named the colourways after five important and inspiring women from the North West.
Edith Rigby - from Preston, suffragette and activist (green)
Alice Nutter - from Pendle - accused and hanged as part of the Pendle Witch Hunt (pink)
Victoria Wood - from Prestwich, comedian, actor, director, singer/songwriter. (yellow)
Lilian Bader - Liverpool, Acting Corporal (RAF) and the first black woman to join the RAF (blue)
Jeanette Winterson - from Accrington, author and journalist. (grey)
