Steeking! A word that seems to send shivers down the spine of many a knitter! Cut my knitting?!
Well be afraid no more! Jaki is coming to show us that it's easy when you know how. You'll practice your colour work and knit a pair of cuffs as a 'by product' of the steeking workshop, you will be able to steek with confidence after this class.
Level: intermediate - you'll need to be comfortable working in the round with experience of knitting colour work.
Tea, coffee and a morning pastry will be provided and you'll have 45 minutes for lunch to go and explore Lancaster's finest cafes! More details about what to bring will be emailed out once you've booked.
A bit about Jaki:
"I have taught art and design, fashion and textiles for over 30 years, in schools
and colleges. I now put all that experience to further use in Skipton and
in Limoges, France. My subject matter is now more specifically, confidence! I
create short workshops that hopefully engage people but more importantly
inspire and excite!
I am also a knitwear designer, dyeing my own yarn, trying to create an extensive range of colours, which I could use like a painting palette in order to interpret an idea of certain feelings: heat, pleasure, relaxation, colour, history, landscape and texture.
A few of my most recent designs are: Siena, Giotto and Angelico; inspired by 2020 lockdown, Wednesday, October and Judith; inspired by nature and colour, The Fury; inspired by COP26!"
