Northern Yarn - Methera
Methera is a beautiful blend of wool, handpicked from four different breeds of sheep, all sourced from local farms in Lancashire and Cumbria. One of our favourite hand dyers RiverKnits have custom dyed a 'Gingerbread' colour way that will work up with little flashes of natural silver grey and with the darker tones, you'll be dreaming of Christmas cake, gingerbread houses and a sherry or two! 100g skein.
Fripperies & Bibelots Stitch Markers
A personal favourite, Sarah has custom made these gorgeous RingOs with a Gingerbread theme! Will fit needles up to 4.5mm - 5 markers in a tin. We also have crochet markers available
Mr Thompson's Ormskirk Gingerbread
Gingerbread became widely popular across the North of England when women started manufacturing the addictive treat in Ormskirk from as early as 1732. Often sold at staging inns, the delicious treat reached royalty - with Edward VII sending in orders! Mr Thompson managed to find the original recipe but has given it a modern twist and you'll find two slabs in your box - to share or not to share, that is the question!
A Beeswax 'Skep' Candle - A Bit of A Buzz
Michelle hand makes these beautiful, natural candles in Halton, just outside Lancaster. Create your cosy atmosphere, beeswax is completely non-toxic with no nasty synthetic fragrances! (*a skep is the original name for a beehive - which was usually made of straw.)
The Soap Dairy - Gold Top Soap
Maria makes these beautiful soaps with Jersey milk from their 'house cow' Buttercup, on a farm in Nibthwaite, Cumbria. Named for the rich, cream that you get with Gold Top milk (full fat) this soap is blended with orange peel essential oil, shea & aloe butter. No palm oil - tested on farmers! 70g pebble in a box.
Established in 1837, Atkinsons is the most beautiful tea and coffee shop, roasting their own coffee and making blends to die for. We've filled two tea bags (unbleached and biodegradable of course) with the prettiest leaves; Black Chai (aniseed, cloves, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper & black tea) and Winter Tea (black tea, hibiscus blossoms, almond pieces, orange peel, cornflower blossoms) ***CONTAINS NUTS****
Ethel Postcard with pattern suggestions & playlist
Beautiful Ethel is a Lancashire lass! A Zwartbles sheep, she lives in Garstang with her friends and owner Lucy - who also takes beautiful photos of her teddy bear sheep and our local landscape! We buy these amazing fleeces and they go in our Methera to make a silvery grey base - look closely and you'll see the dark fibres giving real depth to the colours dyed on top. We compiled a list of pattern suggestions for you that take around one skein of 4 ply - but you can do what you like! It will mix in beautifully with other woolly 4 ply yarn or your own Methera stash!
And finally, we also included a playlist of our favourite autumnal and winter tunes - you can find and listen on Spotify!
